Carmen Miranda defined her animated, ebullient style with larger-than-life, bountiful fruits on the top of her head. But the Portuguese-born Brazilian singer, dancer and actress also wore berries, bananas and strawberries on necklaces, earrings and more. For me, she’s one of my forever style muses, finitely bound to the ample, lavish colors and textures of fruits! Though she was at her height of fame in the 1930s and 1940s, her enchanting aura and vision is comfortably contemporary in the modern maximalism landscape.

So, this spring, let vintage fruit jewelry be the abundance you didn’t know you needed. There’s something extraordinarily spectacular about a chunky glass strawberry hanging around your neck, or a bunch of metal or ceramic fruits clinking together as you galavant. The best part about vintage fruit jewelry is that it’s ubiquitous. As soon as you start looking for it, you see it everywhere.
